Job Description

Please keep an eye out for our email.JOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Operations Manager with excellent team management, organisational, communication and collaboration skills.Working as the Operations Manager you will manage an operations team of staff and volunteers working with children and young people and their families, delivering Skills, Information & Support Services (SISS).As the Operations Manager you will work across the Southwest and Wales region as part of a team of 7 managers and will lead on the delivery of the service to Children and Young People (CYP).The Operations Manager will have previous experience of leading services for children with vision impairment as a practitioner or manager. There will be a particular focus on managing the ongoing development of the Habilitation service in Wales and supportingthe team who deliver this. The team are based in North and South Wales so a willingness to travel is essential. Knowledge of Wales and its legislation would also be an advantage.WORKING AT THE CHARITYWorking at the Charity is much more than just a job.   • Operational delivery to enable person-centred services within the allocated geographical area of your Region
  • Work with key collaborative partners to augment, promote, develop and deliver these services
  • Lead the team to proactively identify and resolve areas of concern in standardisation and process application
  • Ensure feedback and the voice of customers is utilised to achieve continuous improvement
  • Provide first-line leadership to staff team(s), managing and developing a high performing operations team
  • Manage recruitment and staff resourcing in the team
  • Performance management of operational staff members
  • Ensure processes are embedded and validated
  • Plan a defined staged delivery plan
  • Monitor and evaluate against key performance indicators
  • Ensure that national standards are met and maintained through evaluation and engagement
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSEssential
  • Certified Management qualification such as ILM or equivalent relevant work experience in a management, supervisory or volunteer management role
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a professional management, supervisory or teaching / training role related to vulnerable people
  • Experience of developing, supervising and / or managing performance in others (e.g. staff/volunteers), coaching and leading a team
  • Able to demonstrate experience of managing a complex operations environment where exceptional, customer-focused service delivery is achieved
  • Extensive experience and proven ability to work safely with children and young people with developed understanding of both child protection issues and the issues affecting all vulnerable groups
Desirable
  • Experience of professional supervision of staff working with children with complex needs
  • Experience of working in any the following settings: education, health and social care, police/probation
