Job Description

Mechanical assembly engineers required for permanent, full time work at a manufacturing company in Bristol, BS14

  • £26,000 - £28,000 per annum, depending on experience/qualifications.
  • MondayFriday, 39 hours per week
  • 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidaysincreasing to 28 after 5 years service
  • Lots of overtime available - extra hours each day or on Saturday mornings
  • Overtime is paid at 1.5 x rate Monday to Saturday and 2 x rate for Sunday

About the role
  • Varied machinery assembly within a precision machinery environment
  • Build mechanical components into sub-assemblies and through to machine systems
  • Completion of a whole assemblies, using drawings and parts list.
  • Knowledge of the correct fit of tolerances required for successful sub-assembly operation
  • Complete any quality documentation required for the tasks
  • Identify problems with assemblies / parts and raise any quality issues following the company procedures
The right candidate
  • Several years of previous mechanical assembly experience in a machine manufacturing environment
  • Computer literate
  • Able to read engineering drawings and understand Bill of Materials
  • Good dexterity with the ability to handle a variety of parts including sheet metal, machined and mechanical components
  • Previous experience working with machinery with moving / rotating parts, automation machines etc - for example printing presses, packaging machines, automation equipment etc
