An inspirational not-for-profit is looking for a Life Science Conference Commissioner or Conference Producer. This is not an event management role. This role would suit someone from a medical, pharmaceutical, life science publishing / events, or a lifescience academia background. You will commission biomedical events that will really make a difference to the global medical community. Once commissioned, you will pass the event to the events team to manage, as such, your event experience doesnt need to beany more in-depth than having attended life science conferences.This role is Bristol based but supports hybrid working, so you can work from home and the office, as well as having comprehensive flexi-time.The experience we need.* You will come from a medical, pharmaceutical, life science publishing, life science events or life science academia background* Proven and demonstrable experience in relationship management within the biomedical industry* A commercial mindset is key, with the ability to translate research into commercial activities and speaker content* A confident strategic thinker who can actively contribute, champion and shape future meeting development* An individual who is not afraid to take considered and measured risks when necessary.The role.* Use your knowledge of the medical industry and your contacts within the medical industry to develop and grow a portfolio of life science events. * Identify, research and prioritise potential new events for launch, producing fully costed business plans for each* Take a strategic view of the positioning of each event in the series in terms of marketing and sponsorship opportunities* Commission compelling conference programmes that are topical, relevant and based on industry knowledge and research* Communicate with key industry figures to determine the validity of proposed topics* Develop a wide network of potential programme coordinators, facilitators, speakers and chairpersons* Identifying audiences for each event, working collaboratively with the marketing team to devise marketing strategies to reach these targets* Identifying potential sponsorship opportunities for each event* Analyse and report on the scope of success for each identified topic area to the executive team.The company.This not-for-profit works globally and has a tangible impact on global health.What youll get in return.Youll get a salary of £39k - £43k plus hybrid working, comprehensive flexi-time working, phenomenal holiday allowance and other great benefits.
