Are you looking for your first step up into a Lead Java Engineer roleOr perhaps youre a Lead Engineer already, but youre looking for a new engineering challengeRead on!Im recruiting a Lead Java Engineer for a private bank & wealth management organisation who are part of one of the biggest banks in Britain.Established over 300 years ago and currently boasting over 2,000 employees across the UK, they have won multiple industry awards for their superb modern online banking and mobile applications.As a Lead Java Engineer, you will be coming into an team of 12 engineers - you will balance your time between hands on development as well working with the Development Manager to lead the team. Line management experience would be useful to have, but theyreopen to Senior Java Engineers who want to take that next step and will help with mentoring.This means alongside coding, youll get involved in peer code reviews and pair programming, taking the lead in daily stand-up meetings and regular sprint planning.Youll also work closely with Product Owners, and relevant subject matter experts, as well as other scrum teams across the Mobile Banking team to deliver solutions. Youll contribute to and provide feedback on app UI/UX designs produced by external parties.The tech environment youll work in looks like this: Java8/11, Microservices, ActiveMQ, Junit, Mockito, Springboot, Spring Security, Spring MVC, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, TDD.For this Lead Java Engineer role they are paying between £80,000 to £93,000 (depending on experience) + 20% bonus + 30 days holiday + 12 months paternity leave.They are HQd in Central Bristol and have a flexible approach to remote working - so if you can only make it in once or twice per month, thats no issue.Please contact me, Reuben Jenkins - rjenkins @ welovesalt.com
