Job Description

We have opportunities for ambitious and enthusiastic engineers to join our team in Bristol as a Junior Site Works Planner. Working in a friendly and supportive fast-paced environment, youll assist with the validation and planning of client produced routedesigns, identifying all surface types, meterage, SEDs and traffic management requirements.Generation of Bill of Quants and job packs for operation teams in order to facilitate the execution of the works.The main duties include the responsibility for the following:

  • Carry out works design verification activity, including, walking the route, identify SEDs and appropriate trial hole locations
  • Capturing the meterage and surface type of dig location.
  • Production of fit for purpose job pack for execution by operations teams
  • Ensure work is accurate and completed on time
  • Liaison with the Operation teams, client representatives, Local authority and 3rd party stakeholders, where necessary, in order to assist with the build programme.
  • Comply with Health & Safety and environmental policies
  • Production of risk register highlighting all obstructions and SEDs
  • Production of job pack including photos detailing all work required onsite.
The ideal candidate for this role should have the following skills & qualifications:
  • Demonstrates effective communication and people interfacing skills
  • Hands on approach
  • Good understanding of legislation regarding activities in the highway.
  • Positive and Willing to learn
  • Ability to work in all weathers
  • Excellent IT skills, including excel and PDF.
  • Driving Licence is essential
  • Experience in a similar operational environment within the telecommunications or utilities industry.
  • A telecoms or utilities background would be beneficial, but not essential.
  • A desire to learn are an absolute must.
  • Geographical knowledge and understanding would be an advantage
  • Youll need to proactively manage your own work
  • Good working Knowledge of Windows packages is essential
  • Financial awareness would be desirable
  • Good awareness of Health & Safety
  • NWSWASigning, Lighting and Guarding would be beneficial, but not essential.
  • Civils experience would be beneficial, but not essential
