Acorn Recruitment is seeking, an experienced IT Support Technician for their manufacturing client based in Thornbury, South Gloucestershire. The salary for this role is £25,000 pa.KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES* To record, diagnose and resolve/escalate IT faults and incidents, utilising the help desk system.* To set up, install and maintain all PC/Server/Network hardware and software.* To ensure that all operational systems are functioning effectively, properly utilising and updating procedures.* To provide support for telephone systems to ensure effective communications and call centres.* To provide out of hours support to critical business activities on a rota basis.KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR ROLEEssential: Experience of supporting and developing PC LAN based networks together with experience of Windows (Server and Workstation), and Active Directory.* Hands-on break fix skills with IT hardware and cabling* Excellent customer service, written and verbal communication skills* Proactive problem solving skills* Good organisational skills* Strong attention to detail Desirable: Significant experience of 2nd and 3rd line technical support.Knowledge of the following:* ITIL process knowledge* Printer Hardware troubleshooting* Microsoft Office Suite* Google Apps platform* AWS Cloud Hosting concepts* McAfee Endpoint Protection and Encryption* Alcatel Omni PCX Enterprise telephone system* VMware Virtual platforms* IBM AS400 operations* VPN / mobility solutions* Cisco networking command line operations* Solarwinds Networking and Server modules* Mobile phone operating systems (Android and iOS)Acorn Recruitment acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment.
