Job Description

IT Network Engineer / £40000 / Remote working with travel to Bristol, Slough and Newport Kelly Services are proud to be recruiting for an IT Network Engineer for a leading outsourced contact centre provider. The successful candidate will participate in the implementation of new solutions, expansions, migrations and removal of existing systems and provide professional support and knowledge of systems to internal business units and clients. They will submit recommendations for system improvements to the senior IT management team and help maintain the optimal operational environment of the IT Networks by regular monitoring and maintenance.The RoleSupport operational IT systemsProvide 3rd Line support for the NetworkHelp design new solutions, based on operational requirementsService BAU requests from ticket system to ensure a monthly 95% SLA targetProjects/BAU Split roughly 70% Projects, 30% BAU.Securing systems to PCI DSS & ISO27000 standards through vulnerability scanning and remediationAttend pre-sales and project initiation meetings to gain full understanding of business & client requirements.Manage milestones & deliverables within project scope.Research and analyse requirements for assigned projects and be involved in full project lifecycle from inception to closure.Documenting Network Infrastructure and configuration and keep them up-to-dateAssist in the migration from, consolidation of and/or decommission of legacy systemsMaintaining systems uptime and performance through the use of SolarwindsSupport all changes or work required for annual penetration testingLiaison with internal and external support teams based at other locations. Provide technical guidance and assistance to Technical Support engineers. Proactively share information on services, configurations, specific settings and related technical information.On-call support is expected, out of hours work may be requiredThe Ideal CandidateAt least 3 years IT Network Team / 3rd Line Support experience(SC) Security clearance will be required for this role - We can apply for this on commencing employment, but applicant will need to have been a UK resident for the past 5 years to apply for SC clearance.Strong troubleshooting, analytical and support skillsOrganised, efficient and able to prioritise tasks / plan own timeStrong communication skills both verbal and writtenBe able to think out of the box, providing creative ideas and solutionsTeam player and driven by success, aiming for quality serviceAbility to demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining and updating technical skill set in line with industry standards.Experience in a Call Centre environment or similar would be advantageousRequired SkillsUnderstanding of data networking technologies principally TCP/IP based and the associated infrastructure.Solid understanding of Cisco IOS, NX-OS and associated devicesSolid understanding of routing protocols - such as EIGRP, BGP, and OSPFAdministrative experience of Cisco ASA security appliances and NGFWGood understanding of QoS and VOIP technologiesExperience of 3rd party products used to provide monitoring and management of the network and associated devices.Broad understanding of Network security technology, principles, practices.Experience and understanding of PCI DSSExperience with ISO270001 and ITIL practicesDesirableCCNP or alternative vendor equivalentExperience of Cisco ISEExperience of Data Centre DesignExperience of IPS/IDSUse of applications such as Solarwinds and Splunk for network monitoring and loggingNetwork Automation experience (Python or other scripting experience such as K8s/Docker)Kelly Services are acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this role.
