Job Description

IT Infrastructure Manager required by market leading organisation based in Central Bristol (5 minute walk from Temple Meads Station). The IT Infrastructure Manager will have substantial experience in a technical management role, managing a team and third-party suppliers delivering infrastructure and applications to at least 1,000 end-users in a multi-site business-to-business services organisation.Duties of the IT Infrastructure Manager:

  • Defining IT architectures and technology strategies, delivering IT solutions to time and budget in complex environments, covering infrastructure (network, storage, compute), enterprise platforms (messaging, database, etc.).
  • End-user compute delivery, including desktop builds, application packaging and deployment, mobile device management and deployment
  • Creating and delivering roadmaps for transitioning from on-premises to cloud/hybrid models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
  • Defining, implementing and managing an appropriate mix of Target Operating Models including in-house, outsourced and managed services providers
  • SLA, OLA and KPI creating, reporting and monitoring
  • Substantial experience of selection, implementation and operational support of technologies and services currently used including: Microsoft desktop and server technologies, e.g. Windows Server Operating Systems, Windows Desktop Operating Systems (2007 - 2010), Microsoft Office, Microsoft Exchange, Skype for Business, Active Directory, Group Policy, SCCM, VMWare (virtualisation and VDI), Symantec Anti-Virus, Networking, Mitel Telephony.
  • Experience of working with ISO27001:
  • Defining and implementing technical security standards and procedures
    • Required background:
  • Experience in a technical management role, managing a team and third-party suppliers delivering infrastructure and applications.

  • Azure, AWS, converged, hybrid and cloud services (IaaS, PaaS), managed services and applications (SaaS)
  • Selecting and transitioning to managed service providers in the infrastructure, networking and security spaces
    • Required certifications:
  • Relevant certifications, e.g. ITIL, TOGAF, Microsoft, VMWare, etc
  • Qualification in Computing or related discipline (further or higher education)
    • A basic salary to between £50,000-60,000 p/a with an excellent benefits package which includes 25 days holiday (which will increase to 30 days based upon length of service), pension, cycle to work scheme and private medical insurance. Required skills
