Job Description

A leading Global Bank currently requires a IT Business Manager for an initial 6 month contract based in Sheffield, paying up to £400 per day via PAYE or £500 per day via Umbrella.Role Overview

  • This role will also involve the Commercial Management for the IBMZ Domain. The role holder will be required to understand and work with the wider finances teams to manage the Annual Operating plan / Rate setting process.
  • This role will involve management of Suppliers and Contracts that reside within the IBM Z Sub Function within Enterprise Services.As such the role holder will be responsible for ensuring that key Material and Global Suppliers are managed in an effective & consistent way, in accordance with Vendor Risk Management Functional Instruction Manual, Supplier Management and Vendor management policies.
  • The post involves managing the risks associated with Global, Material contracts as well as ensuring best practice shared as well as leveraging global relationships for financial gain
  • The role holder will be required to understand, develop & provide key technical & commercial data and build/contribute to the monthly MI reporting.
  • The role holder will be integral to the Business Management Services team, working within a dynamic environment that offers opportunity to develop new skills, establish global networks and interact with external parties.
  • Applicants may be required to undertake occasional UK & overseas travel, as Supplier meetings may be required in different locations with the UK and there may be a requirement to travel overseas depending on the cost/risk/reward of engaging with colleagues in-country
  • The post holder will work with a number of internal stakeholders at all levels
    • Experience Required
  • Experience working in relevant IBM Z / Mainframe environment/s, i.e. Operational, Commercial, Financial & Risk environment.
  • Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Vendor and Supplier Performance management.
  • Previous experience / knowledge of Enterprise contracts/Mainframe Licensing/Vendor management
  • Good technical experience of the IBM Z operating systems/platform.
  • Experience in License Compliance, with demonstrable knowledge in cost modelling.
  • Understanding of Commercial Management e.g. Pioneer, Apptio, Rate Setting desirable but not essential
  • Understanding of Risk Management systems/processes e.g. Helios, Archer desirable but not essential
  • A desire to find ways to continually improve the service delivered to customers.
  • A track record of delivering significant change which improves business effectiveness in sustainable ways.
