Job Description

Job Title Infrastructure / Cloud EngineerLocation Fully-Remote Hours Monday - Friday 37.5 Hours (flexibility required)Our client - a leading, customer facing software developer are looking for a Infrastructure Cloud Engineer to join a 4-man team in supporting an exciting new project.Essential Skills:

  • 2+ Years commercial Azure Experience
  • PaaS / IaaS
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for ensuring all environments (hosted and local) are secure, reliable and performant.
  • Working closely with the Product and DevOps teams, providing an extra layer of insight for the successful development and deployment of highly secure and highly available IaaS and PaaS based solutions.
  • Work closely with DevOps and QA to migrate the tPoint product from IaaS to PaaS.
  • Support DevOps with the setup of full automation of deployments, both to IaaS and PaaS platforms.
  • Support the rollout of ISO 27001 procedures.
  • Support the security refinement projects and play a key role in advising on best practises.
  • Support the performance, scale and reliability projects and play a key role in advising on best practises.
  • Ensure that suppliers are managed appropriately and provide complimentary services to the team. Able to motivate and acquire new services when appropriate.
Required Experience
  • Experience influencing the performance, scale and security of an app with somewhere between 1k - 15k concurrent users.
  • Experience working in an SME environment (businesses up to 200 employees) where you wear many hats and have an all-hands-on-deck attitude.
  • Experience with the design & management of network infrastructure - Telephony, Firewalls, VPN, MPLS.
  • Strong experience of defining & implementing infrastructure strategies with leading technical projects through the full life cycle.
  • Ideally will have experience working in an ISO 27001and PCI DDS certified environment.
  • Excellent knowledge with OWASP top 10, in particular where it applies to infrastructure hardening.
  • Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure with a focus on Azure (IaaS and PaaS)
  • Experience with Disaster recovery & Business continuity.
  • Strong vendor relationship skills; capable of maximising the value of services provided by hosting partner, security and load testing partners, monitoring and alerting tools.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors (2:1 or above) and/or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • TOGAF Certification is desirable along with relevant Microsoft and Network certifications (CCNA, MCSA, MCSE, MCTS etc)
