Job Description

Our client is currently looking for a House Manager to join their busy team!They are excited to offer the position of House Manager to the right candidate at their 21-bedroom House in Bristol. The Charity provides a home away from home for families who have a sick child in hospital. This means that families canbe by their childs bedside in a matter of moments, whilst maintaining a degree of normal life and reducing emotional and financial strain.They are looking for an individual to build on the work of the Charity and maintain high standards of family-centred care within the 21-Bedroom Bristol House. To do this, the Charity recognises the importance of having strong support to families at a criticaltime in their lives.If you have experience in operations or line management and want to make a difference to peoples lives, this could be the role for you.Location: Bristol, BS2 8DH Hours of Work: Permanent; Full time. 35 hours per week, including some weekends and evening work.Salary: £31,000 per annumHouse Manager Duties:

  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the House, taking into account that the House is operational 24-hours a day by balancing the challenge of communal living and creating a supportive home from home environment while achieving financial and operationalefficiencies
  • Control House budgets and manage accounts. Manage expenditure throughout the year working to an agreed budget and income target and producing the relevant reports
  • Build strong relationships with the hospital at all levels and build relationships within the hospital community
  • Be able to effectively manage crisis and conflict management situations.
  • Be the main Out of Hours emergency point of contact and responsible for notifying the relevant people in any situation
  • Recruitment, retention, management and development of small team
  • Implement and follow-up on all company Policies and House Rules including H&S, Employment Law, Security and General Data Protection Regulations
House Manager Requirements:You will need to be self-motivated, embracing the core values of the Charity, sharing the vision of wanting to keep families close to their sick child in Hospital. The welfare of your team and our families should be at the forefront of your work.You will have line management experience and manage a wide range of activities while producing high quality work with minimal supervision. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are vital to form relationships with various stakeholders includingour families, NHS partnerships, Charity supporters, Trustees and fellow employees.Most of all, you will need to be empathetic with the ability to maintain professional boundaries.
