HeadteacherEssential Criteria: Relevant Leadership/Headteacher qualification (such as NPQH) or a willingness to gain such a qualification.Location: Pilning, South GlosContract Type: Full-time, PermanentHours: Full-time, 40 hours per weekSalary: TLS - L17-L21 (£62,570- £69,031)Closing Date:05/02/2021Interview Dates: W/C 15/02/2021The Aurora GroupThe Aurora Group is an innovative provider of education and care for children, young people and adults with special educational needs and disabilities.We are currently looking for aHeadteacherinPilning, South Gloucestershire where our Aurora Hedgeway School (Ofsted rated “Good”) provides flexible specialist education for children and young people aged 7-19 with a range of diagnoses such as ASC, communication and associated needs.The role:As our new Headteacher you will ultimately be accountable for all areas of operational and educational performance within the School, as well as the financial performance and overall management of staff team.You will be expected to provide vision, leadership and direction for our school. Delivering the highest professional standard whist maintaining its success and providing a high quality of education which reflects Aurora vision and values.We always want to improve; so it will be no surprise that you’ll play be a key role in shaping our provision; driving our curriculum development and moving the school to ‘Outstanding’ in all areas.To achieve in this role you will be someone who inspires creativity and collaboration, a strong leader and a passionate advocate for your students, finding ways to deliver educational outcomes that make a real difference to them.It is an exciting time to be part of Aurora and this is a unique career opportunity to make your mark on our growing services.Experience:Successful candidate are likely to demonstrate the following:

  • Qualified Teacher Status with further professional qualification in a relevant area. Candidates with Head Teacher qualification (such as NPQH) or a willingness to gain such a qualification preferred.
  • Proven track record and experience of working as part of a senior leadership team within an SEN school environment.
  • A clear understanding of Ofsted frameworks and safeguarding legislation in relation to independent schools.
  • Quality assurance experience (such as lesson observations and performance management)
  • Team management experience.
  • Experience of financial planning and control
  • Superb communication and stakeholder management skills
