Job Description

Head of Sales for Clue ComputingAs Clues, a VC funded fast growing SaaS business, retained recruitment partner, we are delighted to be able to support them in a search for an experienced Head of Sales.Clues Vision is To Empower Investigations for a Safer WorldClue is used by the worlds leading organisations like Amazon, the Metropolitan Police, Oxfam International, the Home Office and the International Cricket Council to investigate things like corruption, organised crime, child abuse, insider threats, cybercrime,financial crime and much more.Clue is a Bristol based business, with a hybrid work force. They are happy to support significant remote working, but would like an individual who is happy and able to be in Bristol a couple of times a month+.Job PurposeAs Head of Sales, you will be central to helping us grow our ARR from £2.5m to over £20m by 2025. This will include scaling a high-performing sales engine to over 20 in that time.You will be responsible, working closely with the Exec team, for developing and delivering a clear sales strategy, in line with Clues business goals. You will drive the implementation of systems and processes and analytics tools that provide clarity onpipeline, targets and key performance indicators.At the same time, you will be responsible for the growth of the team and be an inspirational leader able to attract and retain the very best talent.What does great look like in 18 months

  • It is June 2023 and the value of the pipeline consistently increasing over the past 18 months, delivering over £1.8m of new ARR in 2022. You are now well placed to exceed £3.3m of new ARR in 2023
  • You have grown the team from 3 when you joined to 12 today and recruitment for a further 3 is ongoing.
  • You have a highly motivated and capable sales team; you have achieved this through inspiring the very best talent to join Clue and to buy into our purpose and culture
  • You have built up a solid reputation of providing the executive team and board with reliable pipeline and forecast data and your achievement against forecast is impeccable.
  • You totally get Clue; you understand the value we provide and you help people understand how were making the world safer everyday through the services we provide.
  • You have been instrumental in maintaining our great culture and shared purpose as we scale.
Key responsibilities
  • Drive new ARR from new customers across all core market sectors - Policing, Government, Non-Profit, Commercial and Sport. This is principally through a direct relationship with customers, but this may also be driven by partnerships.
  • Drive new ARR from existing customer base, by working collaboratively with other internal teams, such as the Customer Success and Support teams.
  • Hire, coach and lead a team of high-performing SDRs, Account Executives and Account Development Managers as the company grows.
  • Develop and implement a scalable and consistent sales process from prospecting/demand generation through to contract execution.
  • Manage and provide all sales and pipeline reporting as required by the executive team and the board
  • Collaborate with internal product teams and provide feedback from the market to help shape future direction of our product
  • Work closely with the Exec team to help shape the growth of the business and align revenue strategy in line with objectives.
  • Implement, support and drive initiatives to establish and foster partnerships and communities across our customers and within our key markets.
Skills & Competencies
  • A proven and extensive background in SaaS Sales and Operational environments.
  • A proven Sales Leader with experience of growing and building a high performing SaaS Sales team.
  • Proven ability in designing and delivering a clear, consistent sales strategy and process.
  • Experience of selling to large enterprise organisations in both the public and private sectors
  • Experience of using a suite of technology tools to assist with outbound sales, current customer engagement, as well as pipeline forecasting and reporting.
  • Excellent communication - verbal and written.
  • Excellent negotiation skills
Salary + Benefits
  • Basic Salary - £100,000 - £120,000 but would prefer to talk to you about this rather than let this rule you out.
  • Double OTE - circa £240K total earnings
