Job Description

Head of Buying - Furniture and Homeware | Luxury eCommerce Home brand London/Bristol/Flexible Location | £75,000 - £85,000 + PackageThis exciting homeware and furniture brand is currently hiring for a pivotal Head of Buying role to help develop and implement a new sourcing strategy. As a go to brand for home inspiration and quality products, the successful applicant will continue to improve and develop an exciting product range with the customer at the forefront of what they do. If you want a creative and fast paced environment to work in, this role could be perfect for you!What will the role involveThis position is a new role in the business due to increased revenue over the last 12 months. Therefore, there is an opportunity to influence and carve out the role based on the experience and vision of the successful applicant. There are however several key areas which the role will oversee:

  • Designing and implementing a new sourcing strategy to move away from wholesale buying to direct factory sourcing
  • Working with existing suppliers to increase product range availability (currently have c200 different products)
  • Identifying and negotiating with new suppliers - particularly in the Far East
  • Work with marketing and sales team to perform trend analysis and tailor curated items accordingly
  • Work with Quality to ensure the existing (and new) product range delivers above expectations for customers
  • Work with the senior leadership team to help align product range and target customer base
    • What skills and experience are neededThis is a growing business with an exciting, fast paced culture - therefore a proactive and hardworking mentality is a must have! In addition to this, the below are important:
  • Previous experience in a Buying Manager or Head of Buying role with experience sourcing furniture (indoor and outdoor) and homeware
  • A track record of direct factory sourcing - ideally with Far East experience
  • The ability to develop long tern strategic supplier relationships with a focus on quality over quantity
  • Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to identity new products for additional revenue streams
  • Excellent people skills with a track record in negotiations
