Job Description

Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.About the roleAre you enthusiastic and positive and enjoy bringing a group of people together through activities and songsDo you have skill and experience with working with people affected by dementia to engage them in group situationsJoin us as a Group Coordinator to provide a range of vibrant, supportive groups to our service users! The groups include, but are not limited to, Memory Cafes, Activity Groups and Singing for the Brain. Several groups are well established, but others requiredeveloping and promoting to reach a wider number of people.The successful candidate will be joining a supportive and experienced team of Group Coordinators and dedicated volunteers. As a Group Coordinator you will also be connected to the expert local teams of Dementia Advisers and Dementia Navigators.About you

  • We are looking for a compassionate, supportive person with a good understanding of dementia and how it impacts both the person with the diagnosis and the carer.
  • The role requires excellent communication skills to engage people in group activities, ensuring the person with dementia can fully participate as well as the carer.
  • Understanding the importance of volunteers in group services is essential, plus the ability to role manage volunteers to support them in their role.
  • Excellent computer skills are required to facilitate virtual groups, and to complete accurate records on the computer system.
  • The successful applicant will need to have access to transport due to the locations the service covers.
