We are seeking a GIS Consultant to join our clients friendly, experienced GIS & Visualisation team and could be based in Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh or Glasgow. Our client is open to a blend of working from home and the office if desired, there arealso options for flexible working.In this role, youll be joining an award-winning environmental consultancy providing planning, impact assessment, landscape design, ecology and geospatial services to a wide range of public and private sector clients.As a GIS Consultant, you will provide GIS input into projects across all service areas, including planning, ecology and landscape planning and management projects. Your work will be varied, and will include:* Map production* Digitising* Geographic data analysis* Managing field data collection* ReportingGIS Consultants have the opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of our clients projects including ecology mapping, Landscape and Seascape Character Assessment, Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment and Open Space and Green Infrastructure audits. This is an opportunity to join an innovative and fun team where youll share and participate actively in the management and ownership of the business through our clients unique Employee Ownership Trust, which places full ownership of the company with the employees.Experience and Qualifications* GIS or related degree, or a blend of knowledge and qualifications reflecting a similar level of expertise* Practical experience in a consultancy or other non-academic context in data processing and analysis using GIS and Excel* Experience of applying GIS analysis to landscape, planning and wider environmental issues* Experience of ESRI software products, particularly ArcGIS 10, ArcPro and AGOL* A proactive, organised and effective approach to your work and an appetite for diverse projects* The ability to work efficiently and respond quickly to meet deadlines, whilst working on a number of projects simultaneously* Good knowledge of using UK environmental and Ordnance Survey datasetsAny of the following would enhance your application further but are not essential:* Experience with ArcGIS extensions, including Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst.* Knowledge of other GIS or CAD software.* Knowledge of graphics packages (Photoshop, InDesign, etc).* PostgreSQL database/Geoserver experience.* Python scripting, including ArcPy.* Experience of manipulating Remote Sensing data.* Experience of developing open source web solutions.* Experience/interest in reporting on your findings.Do you like the sound of this role If you have the skills and experience listed above, then we want to talk to you.
