Job Description

Financial Services Support AdministratorLocation: Bristol, BS1Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum DOEWork hours: Mon – Fri, 9:30 – 5:30Job Type: Full TimeAbout the Company:Our client is a medium size firm of independent financial advisers with offices in the centre of Bristol. The firm was established over 35 years ago and specialises in retirement advice. The firm lays emphasis on working as a team and all members of staff are expected to be willing to help out other members of staff with their responsibilities and to deal with incoming telephone calls from clients when necessary.They are looking for an experienced administrator to work in the office as an administrative assistant to the managing director/financial planner. You will need to be able to pick up this role quickly and so will be expected to have a good understanding of financial terms and products. This candidate should have a background working within the financial services industry such as with an insurance company or with another Independent Financial Adviser. It would be advantageous to have some modules of the financial services diploma or similar as well as experience of financial IT programs.You will be required to answer complex queries which will mean making effective investigations and be constantly learning. You will be expected to undertake any work which needs to be done, but your specific role in the office will include the following:Financial Services Support Administrator Responsibilities:

  • Producing client reports & letters
  • Producing suitability reports
  • Obtaining illustrations and policy information from insurance companies
  • Research of funds and products
  • To maintain relations with the platforms and insurance companies as well as keeping abreast of changes in the industry
  • Compiling attachments for reports
  • Compiling and completing application forms
  • General correspondence with clients and insurance companies, via telephone, email or letter
  • Financial Services Support Administrator Requirements:
  • Communication (writing effective letters, interpreting meeting notes, presenting financial information)
  • Organisation (prioritisation, attentiveness, multi-tasking)
  • Attention to detail (writing reports, spotting errors, anticipating potential complications)
  • General understanding of financial products (obtaining the correct paperwork, generating quotations, liaising with salesmen)
  • Self-sufficiency (operating outside of defined processes, improvising when templates don’t fit)
  • Successful candidates would also be expected to undertake the in-house training programme in order to take the professional exams.
