Job Description

Finance Business PartnerLocation: BristolContract Type: PermanentRequired Salary: upto £50,000 + £4,000 car allowanceThe CompanyWe are looking to recruit a Finance Business Partner to join the UK trading business reporting to UK Finance Director.This opportunity offers hybrid working and can be based in Bristol.The position is very business partner focused and as well as providing key financial insight it will include overseeing end to end finance operations particularly ensuring accuracy of income and cost forecasts as well as profitability on a project by projectbasis. It is therefore key that any candidate fully understands utilisation and project accounting and be able to influence decision making to enable more profitable outcomes.The role is also tasked with delivering better business intelligence and more importantly, better insights to influence decision-making in the right direction and creating an impact on company performance. At the centre of this shifting demand is the FP&Afunction, which needs to deliver better analytics.We are seeking to meet candidates with an FP&A background, as we look to automate reported analytics, as well as having a strong business partnering background building relationships, turning data into insights and bringing numbers to life.This is a fantastic opportunity to influence business direction as we seek to double the size of the UK business over the next 5 years.Tasks will include:JOB SUMMARYResponsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Business partnering with the business stakeholders to aid completion and understanding of revenue, costs and profitability.
  • Review and evaluation of financial dashboards covering key areas such as sales, project profitability and working capital
  • Enable understanding of key financial variances to forecast providing commentary and analysis to understand the short and long term impact
  • Be able to build a relationship of trust with key stakeholders by aiding key financial decisions showing you understand what they do and thus understanding the strategy of the business.
  • Partner with senior leaders as well as frontline functions that deliver critical inputs to your planning and analysis and attend their monthly meetings to present key findings and analysis.
  • Involvement in the month-end close process including ownership of the UK P&L, balance sheet and cash flow ensuring 12 month rolling forecasts are accurate for the business.
  • Assist with the preparation of the UK business plan providing analysis and insight to the regional directors
  • Support the preparation of weekly and annual cash flow forecasts with a particular emphasis on debt management
  • Support the bid process and other activities by providing financial information as required
  • Undertake process improvement activities
  • Pro-actively undertake ad-hoc duties as they arise to support the business
  • A self-starter who will take deliver first class financial analysis to senior management to allow the business to thrive financially focusing on key areas enabling the business to deliver our 5 year plan to double the business.
  • A person that will communicate clear messages, position ideas so the business buys into them and be able to challenge elegantly.
Personal ProfileExperience, Knowledge and Key Skills
  • Part or Qualified accountant with relevant PQE
  • Multi region sales business background desirable
  • Project accounting and utilisation experience
  • Business acumen and business partnering experience
  • Past delivery of process improvement and automation

QualificationsHold a relevant part or fully qualified accountancy qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)Essential
  • Experience of using Sage 50 Accounts
  • Microsoft Office skills to include MSExcel, MSWord.
  • Part qualified accountant and willingness to continue professional qualifications (AAT / CIMA).
  • Minimum GCSE Level 4 or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and build professional relationships quickly.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage own workload and prioritise activity accordingly.
