Job Description

REED Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a fantastic women’s charity in Bristol with their search for a new Female* Community Outreach Worker to join their team.Please note – this is a temporary requirement for approximately 5 months but it may well lead to a permanent role for the successful candidate.You will provide a package of emotional support and practical advice to survivors of domestic abuse in the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucester areas. The role will include:

  • Building positive relationships with new and existing service users
  • Carrying out DASH risk assessments and needs assessments
  • Producing safety plans with your team including regular reviews and amendments
  • Making referrals to Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Family Support services when relevant
  • Providing practical support including resettlement advice and income/budget management
  • Providing continual emotional support, ensuring that service users feel safe, confident and have an increased understanding of the abuse
  • Maintaining an up to date knowledge of housing legislation, housing and welfare legislation and the welfare benefit system
  • Responding to emergency and crisis situations
  • This is an excellent role for an individual with previous experience working in high support/complex environments, ideally with experience working in Domestic Abuse. The IDVA qualification would be advantageous as well as a clear, Enhanced DBS and access to your own vehicle.This is a full time position that may include evening and weekend work.
