Job Description

Our client, a leading manufacturer of vehicle mitigation and security system products, are looking for a Fabricator/Welder for an initial 6 week contract with the possibility of extension. Based at their Bristol site you will be responsible for fabrication, welding and mechanical assembly, as well as related tooling and test fixtures.Role Details

  • Evaluate all engineering drawings and ensure implementation according to welding specifications.
  • Perform all fabricating work with help of forming, cutting and grinding equipment - mainly with Carbon Steel with occasional Stainless Steel and other metal working.
  • Perform efficient welding of various metal objects, covering mainly MIG processes, with occasional TIG and stick Welding requirements.
  • Complete required annual welding approvals and occasional coded welding requirements.
  • Provide advice and assistance to improving production processes, drawings and design of new parts.
  • Perform repairs to damaged products and fixtures.
  • Perform work with help of various hand and power tools and measuring equipment.
  • Evaluate finished products and perform quality checks on products and raw materials before use.
  • Mechanically assemble, test and disassemble for deliver major products and systems.
  • Assemble old products and perform modification and repair work if required.
  • Able to work safely and to a good standard of housekeeping at all times.
    • Requirements
  • Experience of fabrication and welding essential.
  • Ability to work well in a small team of fabricator welders.
  • Willing to work flexibly and often under own initiative.
