The successful applicant, collaborating with senior leadership, will play a pivotal role in shaping the Groups overall risk position. The role is ideal for a candidate looking to furthertheir risk career; offering wide-ranging access to the whole Group, stakeholder engagement to Board level and with emphasis placed on autonomy, leadership, and innovative thinking.You will deliver and maintain the Groups Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) tool strategy ensuring any risks to the business are identified, assessed, and managed. This is an opportunity for you to own, develop and maintain core GRC data structures acrosskey risk management frameworks including taxonomy, risk assessments and risk events.Working patternThe team is based in ourBristol head office, BS1 5HL . This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We have returned to the office, however for this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern to enable you the option of workingfrom home and coming into the office in a pattern that works for you and your role.How youll be doing it (Role Accountabilities)

  • Develop and maintain the Groups relationship with our core Groups Governance, Risk and Compliance provider
  • Promote a Risk aware culture and drive the standards of risk management practices across the Group
  • Responsible for managing ongoing GRC tool changes and updates
  • Develop and maintain appropriate structures and outputs for second line risk managers
  • Manage GRC development plan and alignment to the Groups second line of defence structure / design
  • Collaborate with Risk Reporting Manager to maintain and develop the GRC solution for HL
  • Support the delivery of the Groups ICAAP (ICARA)
What were looking for
  • Experience of working within and having a thorough understanding of financial service environments. GRC tool strategy knowledge will be supportive in your success for this role.
  • Good knowledge and application of Enterprise risk management tools and techniques, including detailed understanding and experience of risk identification, assessment, and continuous monitoring.
  • Able to support the strategic development of management information and reporting. Providing insights and analysis to develop and continually innovate.
  • An effective and engaging communicator, able to present complex information in simple context, adapting your style to suit your audience
  • Accomplished in forging effective relationships with colleagues at all levels, skilled at influencing, negotiating and managing challenging conversations with ease
  • Possess an analytical mindset, striving for continuous improvement across relationships and process
  • Operate with a sense of credibility and gravitas, upholding HL values throughout
