Job Description

Overall job purposeAn exciting opportunity to be part of a fast growth team, with scope for progression. We are looking for a Manager to join the South West Employer Solutions Group tax team. The ideal candidate will have specialist experience in employment tax and will understand the complexities of dealing with a range of clients in both large and small organisations enabling them to deliver a first-class service. Responsibilities

  • Ability to work across a number of clients and projects, locally and nationally, ensuring a high standard of client service is provided to all.
  • Support the successful delivery of tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and a practical/business driven approach taken
  • Dealing with all employment taxes matters (both compliance and advisory) arising on clients, to include P11D, PSA, termination payments, IR35 and employment status, PAYE/NIC health-check reviews, disclosures, HMRC enquiries, CIS
  • Experience of NMW, the design implementation and compliance of salary sacrifice arrangement and advice in connection with the tax treatment of equity arrangements will be an advantage but not core provided that there is a willingness to learn and broaden experience.
  • Build and maintain tax relationships with clients and provide high levels of client service.
  • Responsible for day-to-day delivery of client liaison and management of expectations.
  • Key member of one of the client service groups providing full tax services to a client portfolio.
  • Contribute to winning new work both new from old and new from new.
  • Day to day financial management of running a client portfolio.
  • Personal and professional qualities The role requires:
  • Strong technical skills
  • An ability to explain highly technical and complex matters in a way that can be clearly understood by non-tax specialists.
  • Strong organisation skills demonstrated through good project management, with evidence of ability to plan and prioritize work, meet deadlines and monitor own budget.
  • Good risk awareness with the ability to carry out effective reviews and know when to refer upwards.
  • Client focused and commercially aware with the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Excellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral.
  • Team player; ability to integrate with new teams quickly and build effective relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to coach and motivate others.
