Job Description

Fusion People are actively recruiting for an Emergency Accommodation Officer to work on behalf of our Bristol based client who have a large residential property portfolio in the Bristol area.Job descriptionOur clients emergency accommodation operation is very fast-paced and variable. They are seeking an Emergency accommodation officer to manage a portfolio of our properties that accommodate homeless individuals and families. The candidate must have great interpersonalskills and enjoy working at pace.The emergency accommodation officer is responsible for a breath of duties. The key purpose of the role is to ensure the residents in their properties are safe and comfortable. We work on behalf of the statutory agency who places the booking. It is importantthat we keep them informed with all relevant information regarding their booking. The emergency accommodation is the main point of contact at their allocated sites for all queries.Main Duties and responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present verbal/written reports when required.
  • Complete admissions process for new residents in conjunction with Allocations team ensuring the house and health and safety rules fully explained to the residents and the relevant paperwork is signed.
  • Provide residents with a safe and comfortable stay by managing the H&S and fire safety at your allocated properties
  • Prevent issues arising by upholding the house rules issue verbal or written warnings, if necessary
  • Ensure the properties are up to company standard
  • Report/escalate any maintenance issues as necessary
  • Carry out periodic property checks and update the property log to show any discharges/admissions
  • Communicating daily to afternoon / night staff any changes via communications book including any complaints/discharges or new bookings.
  • Carry out tests as per fire and H&S protocol
  • Routine stock checks and submit stock allocation list on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure Meter readings are taken and submitted to Accounts on a timely basis
  • Inspect properties to ensure they are clean and in good working order, reporting any defects immediately to the maintenance department via email and noting in the communications book.
  • Advise Cleaners of empty properties which need to be made ready for new residents
  • Maintain a professional rapport at all times with residents
  • Carry out a thorough induction to help the resident settle in and understand the house rules
  • Keep in close communication with the residents. Inform the office when a resident informs you that they are leaving (this helps us prepare for the turnaround)
  • Ensure that the room is set up to company standards and the residents are provided an initial allocation of all inventory theyre entitled to
  • Provide cleaners with direction. If necessary, support the cleaners by cleaning with them
  • Carry out fortnightly 1-1s with the cleaners
  • Ensuring all incidents, breaches and accidents are reported correctly
  • Interact daily with residents answering questions, updating them on changes and dealing with complaints.
  • Promptly answer the phone and resolve internal/external stakeholder queries as effectively as possible
  • Assist with the packing of residents belongings when required.
  • Report any safeguarding concerns immediately
  • Address issues/concerns promptly to prevent incidents arising
  • Assisting in conflict resolution
  • Monitor CCTV to investigate incidents/complaints
  • Keep the office clean and tidy and fully stocked with essential inventory
  • Keep noticeboards up to date and tidy
  • Apply for food parcels when required. Once approved, purchase the items
  • Any other duties that may be reasonably requested by a Senior member of staff.
  • Adhering to the relevant legislation, good practice policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Confidentiality, Equal Opportunities and Safeguarding at all times.
  • Confidentiality - to ensure confidentiality at all times, only releasing confidential information obtained during the course of employment to those acting in an official capacity.
  • Data Protection Act - to comply with the requirements of the Data Protection Act.
Qualifications:
  • 2 years or more housing experience (essential)
  • H&S
  • Property management
  • Safeguarding (preferred)
  • GCSEs
  • 2 years or more housing experience
About the role:
  • Monday to Friday, generally 9am-6pm.
  • £24,5000-£25,500 per annum
  • 26 holidays per annum plus bank holidays
