Are you an Electronic Counter Measure (ECM) Engineer We at Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) have four positions available for Electronic Counter Measures Engineers to work across several areas of our IntegratedBattlespace Operating Centre (IBOC) and Land Equipment Operating Centre (LEOC). These are complex programmes and projects that are delivered in rapid / agile turnaround times. You must have a working knowledge of Electronic Counter Measure Engineering, whichis the ability to trick or deceive radar, sonar, or other detection systems, like infrared (IR) or lasers, with electrical or electronic devices. These are designed to be used both offensively and defensively to deny targeting information to an enemy. Youwill be leading a small team and managing and creating engineering artifacts for a project, and be contributing to projects, schedules, work packages and leading on the engineering aspects, by liaising with a variety of stakeholders on the design and/or integrationof in-service Electronic Counter Measures installations. Please be advised that due to the nature of security, these roles are reserved for sole UK Nationals only and some posts will require the successful applicants to undertake DV clearance once in post.Please note some attendance to the stated site may be required for this position. Responsibilities for Electronic Counter Measure Engineer As an Electronic Counter Measure Engineer, you will be responsible for, but not limited to the following: * Adhering to DE&S engineering process, contributing to the maintenance of the projectengineering management plan, and preparing for and contributing to, project engineering reviews supporting the Lead and Chief Engineer * Leading delivery within industry, providing engineering assurance across requirements setting and acceptance of equipmentfrom industry * Leading from the front, interfacing with industry and stakeholders, as the intelligent customer, both in a scrutiny role and supporting the identification of application risks associated with procuring complex military equipment, and reportingto the delivery manager * Building relationships across different business areas, interacting with internal and external stakeholders both nationally and internationally What you will be assessed against To be successful with your application you must demonstratethat you meet the following essential criteria: A level 4 qualification (HNC or above) in Electronics or a similar subject, or the equivalent demonstrable experienceYou will hold Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status or will demonstrate equivalent knowledge,skills and experience and the ability to become chartered within 12 months of joiningYou will demonstrate experience of providing technical advice and leading the delivery of successful engineering outcomesYou will have a wide-ranging depth and breadthof technical experience in own specialisms In addition to the responsibilities above, the following technical competencies and behaviours will be assessed at interview: Technical Requirements, Evaluation & Acceptance (Practitioner)Technical Decision Making(Practitioner)LeadershipCommunicating and influencing Whats in it for you Our careers offer stability, training, progressionand much more!
