Ecological ConsultantWe have a position for an Interim Conservation Planning officer for our Bristol based client. This is an Initial 3 month contract with the possibility of extension. If you have experience working in Planning teams or are a qualified Ecologist then this role may be for you!Purpose of the RoleProvision of expert advice to Development Management and Strategic & Citywide Planning on all aspects of nature conservation policy and practice ensuring that, within the scope of the planning process, the citys wildlife resource is protected and improved.Key Role Outcomes1.Provide expert advice to Development Management and Strategic & Citywide Planning on all aspects of statutory nature conservation practice, enforcement, defence of decisions and policy development;2.Advise and inform Development Management colleagues on statutory duties relating to nature conservation;3.Work in partnership with the development sector to raise the standard of planning proposals in order to protect and provide for wildlife,4.Coordinate availability and use of up-to-date biological records;5.Maintain, monitor and develop the network of locally protected wildlife and geological sites; and6.Model and promote good equalities practice and value diversity across the service.This role description sets out the key outcomes required.
