Job Description

Development Team Leader - .NETHelastel is a bespoke software solutions company based in the heart of Bristol, specialising in software development, IT consultancy, data management solutions and IT infrastructure services for both private and public sector organisations.If you are an amazing .Net Development Team Leader looking to work for a progressive, dynamic and social technology company that offers personal development, career progression and a range of flexible benefits, then read on as this could be the job for you!The Role:As Team Leader of our .net development team, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all activities within your team, guiding, supporting and developing the team to ensure the successful delivery of projects. You will ensure that high standards of softwarequality are maintained by establishing good practices and habits and identifying areas for growth and improvement within the team.You will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for the performance and output within your team, and for escalating issues or concerns to the Head of Development.
  • Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of Software.
  • Collaborate with other software developers, business analysts and software architects to plan, design,develop, test, and maintain web- and desktop-based business applications built on Microsoft technologies.
  • Assess opportunities for application and process improvement and prepare documentation of rationale to share with team members and other affected parties.
  • Assist in the collection and documentation of users requirements, development of user stories, estimates and work plans.
  • Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards.
  • Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code.
  • Package and support deployment of releases.
  • Analyse and resolve technical and application problems.
  • Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget.
  • Lead the .NET strategy for the business and set quality standards for other Software Engineers and provide appropriate support and training to meet those standards
  • Ensure that the code you work with is scalable and future proof in such a way that it is easy to extend, understand and build on for other engineers
Youll bring the following to our team:
  • .NET Framework and .NET Core - specifically C#, .NET 6
  • ASP including MVC and a strong knowledge of ASP Core middleware pipelines
  • Javascript, HTML and CSS
  • Knowledge of Relational Databases, especially Microsoft SQL Server (MySQL as a bonus)
  • Test-Driven Development, including .NET unit testing libraries
  • Agile development
  • DevOps and CI/CD tools e.g. Azure DevOps
  • Object-Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns and frameworks
  • Experience supervising colleagues
