DevOps EngineerEmployment Type - Full Time Location: Onsite in Bristol 4 - 5 Days per week*Must hold a British Passport and be able to attain or hold active SC/DV Clearance!*Europes most successful Integrated Defence Company is currently on the lookout for DevOps Engineers to join their renowned Software Delivery Capability based in Bristol.The business has a rich heritage in the design and manufacture of Defence Systems across the UKs Army, Navy and Air force in addition to being a world leader in developing the next generation of missiles, which are vital to maintaining National Securityand protecting the Nations Armed Forces in service.When the pandemic hit in 2020, the company did not Furlough a single employees and made no redundancies, in fact everyone received a pay rise and full bonus that year. With a backlog and pipeline of projects worth an estimated £18 Billion to deliver overthe next 6 years theres never been a more exciting time to join the business as it goes from strength to strength year on year.Your role: This is a hands-on development role where you will play an integral part in Software Groups DevOps journey. As the team embark on an exciting next phase of redefining the way it develops and delivers software, youll be put at the heart of this transformation,working in a small team to create huge change!Essential Experience:

• Good hands on understanding of industry leading DevOps tools and techniques.
• The ability to articulate, promote and implement the why DevOps is important to modern development teams.
• Previous experience working in an agile development team.
• An understanding of what it takes to transition software development teams to DevOps tool stack and cultural practices.
• Automation and CI/CD principles/practices
• Key software craftsmanship practices like unit testing and good design.
• Experience with Jenkins, Git, Artifactory
• Containerisation and Virtualisation orchestration: Terraform, Ansible, Docker and Kubernetes

Beneficial but not essential:

• Developing software on Linux.
• Teaching, mentoring, coaching in a technical capacity.
• Applying DevOps principles in a cloud environment
• OpenShift & OpenStack, or equivalent
• An understanding of container, cluster and/or virtualisation security

Benefits Package:

• Base Salary: £60,000 - £70,000
• Pension can rise to 14% (6% Employee and 8% Employer)
