This can be working from home.The Company considers employees as highly valued members of the business and offer an extensive benefits package plus fantastic progression opportunities for those wishing to move further in their career on a local, national, or global scale.Database AdministratorWorking from home with travel to Milton Keynes once or twice a month£55-60K plus extensive benefits packageTo be successful in this role:You will be an experienced Database Administrator who is confident with Oracle Database installation, configuration, fine tuning, security, hardening, capacity management, support and patching on versions R12 and above. Other requirements for this role include:

  • Experience in Database Backup and Restore strategies and Cloning
  • Exposure to building high available databases especially Oracle Real Application Clusters
  • Experience administrating through Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), but able to operate at the command line when required
  • Proven understanding of the Oracle Database architecture and internals
  • Experience of structured problem solving techniques
  • Knowledge of implementing and support database system hosted on on-premises and on public cloud
  • Setting up CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins and Git
  • Good troubleshooting skills for database issues
Desirable skills include knowledge of:
  • MS SQL and Linux administration (very advantageous)
  • Middleware technologies especially application servers like JBoss, Weblogic, IIS etc (very advantageous)
  • Database Disaster Recovery techniques Eg. Oracle Data Guard
  • Azure and (or) AWS services
  • Comfortable in a working from home environment
Position summary:Our client is looking for a Database Administrator to be responsible for designing, building, configuring, and providing ongoing maintenance of Oracle and MS SQL Database systems for various customers. This role is working from home.Job role and responsibilities:Reporting to the team lead, this Database Administrator role includes:
  • Analysis and Design - Transform high-level design into low-level design, and implementation hosted on on-premises or public cloud
  • Work with team leads to properly define and clarify business requirements, development estimation, and work plan finalisation
  • Design and build highly available and replicated database systems
  • Monitor and perform housekeeping activities like patching, security reviews and policy adherence
  • Assist other teams with troubleshooting problems that may arise from applications or integration of various components
  • Ensures good communications between various delivery functions and clients, both internal and external
  • Provides ad-hoc technical support to the business development function on demand
  • Ensure appropriate best practises and operational procedures are in place
