Were steered by core values that promote service, quality, innovation,and opportunity in everything we do.Role OverviewWe are seeking a Data Scientist to join our Data Science team of five specialists, which operates across the breadth and depth of the business. You will have autonomy to build the role into a successful partner with our organisation, utilising your currentskills, in addition to taking opportunities to broaden your experience across various projects.You will own the end to end journey of creating innovative solutions, from identifying the problem and building the solution, to embedding data led capabilities that explain our clients motivations and enable us to identify what actions they will take next.You will also support our colleagues utilisation and understanding of data solutions through collaborative partnerships.We are looking for someone with a strong commercial mindset, who has the technical experience in all aspects of data including data science, data engineering, and stakeholder engagement, in addition to a passion for investing time with non-technical teamsto develop their understanding of various solution applications.Role Accountabilities

• Lead the development of predictive/descriptive capabilities that can improve client engagement or colleague effectiveness.
• Engage and partner with non-technical senior employees to identify problems and embed solutions
• Identify areas to innovate and use data or automation intelligently to improve the client or our colleagues experience
• Monitor, retrain and optimise existing models to maintain model performance
• Continually develop our technical capability in order to use data effectively

Skills & experience

• Strong commercial experience in data, a proven background in innovative problem solving and delivering results.
• Strong coding ability (R/Python), in addition to SQL (Hive & Impala)
• Accomplished data engineer, specifically building data pipelines
• Demonstrable influencing and stakeholder management skills; operate in a way that generates trust and collaboration with an awareness of how to challenge effectively
• Engaging communicator, able to bring relevant narrative to the data and able to adapt presentation skills to suit your audience
• Operate autonomously, skilled at managing own workload and priorities
• Proficient user of project management tools (e.g. Confluence/JIRA)
• Skilled at implementing statistical techniques in production-grade code
• Skilled at analysing and manipulating large data sets and distributed computing (Hive/Hadoop)
• Familiarity with machine learning methods such as neural networks and reinforcement learning
• API development/deployment
