Job Description

Our client is a global leader in the manufacturing and supply of roofing & building envelope materials based in Avonmouth. An already successful organisation who are growing at an impressive rate, they are now seeking an experienced Customs Supervisor to join their vibrant team.We are looking for a confident, competent individual with existing supply chain and import/export administration knowledge and experience.Responsibilities;

  • Responsible for UK import and export declarations
  • Speak with customers on the phone
  • Processing Import/Export customs declarations.
  • Dealing with general inquiries from internal & external sources concerning all areas relating to Customs Procedures, Tariff Classifications, Duty Rates and any other documentation requirements.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in regulations, laws and customs procedures.
  • Responsible for completing the full customs process from start to finish
  • Proactively speak with customers, assisting with queries, sharing knowledge and expertise.
  • Resolve compliance problems
  • Work within all necessary teams within compliance agencies, suppliers and customers to deliver objectives.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with all parties.
  • Maintain a compliant customs clearance process
  • Develop and maintain both new and existing customer relationships, promoting the company’s services.
  • Create, develop and maintain any necessary training documentation to ensure compliance with the clearance process
    • Skills Required;
  • Strong customs experience
  • Excellent practical knowledge of customs processes and regimes at an operational level
  • Strong communication skills
  • Detailed understanding of import and export procedures
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge relating to customs compliance
  • Excellent analytical skills
