You will work as a part of a team of Committee Secretaries, reporting to the Head of Governance as part of the wider Governance team. The role of the Secretary team has two key asks: 1. Providing an effective Secretariat service to the Board, its Committees and Executive leadership forums; and, 2. Owning and contributing to Governance and Secretariat change initiatives. Developing strong secretariat and governance processes that will enable the organisation to make fast, transparent and effective decisions. Homes England is going through a period of considerable change as it moves to a new Operating Model. The Governance team will play a vital role in leading, and being part of, transformational change to enable Homes England to meet its Mission & Objectives.Job descriptionOur successful candidate will: ? Provide an intelligent Secretariat service to the Board, its sub-committees and the executive to drive Members and senior stakeholders performance. ? Acting as Secretary to a number of decision-making meetings; producing excellent minutes, strategically forward planning Committee business and undertaking meeting support administration. ? Taking ownership of the annual staff declarations of interest process. Ensuring it is a transparent and robust process. ? Working autonomously, particularly around your Committee secretary duties, whilst reporting to senior colleagues in the governance team in a matrix management environment. ? Working as part of multi-disciplinary teams undertaking transformational change activities, including Board and Committee design and development.ResponsibilitiesThe successful applicant will have: ? Experience of providing Secretariat support to a Board and/or Committee. ? Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a demanding workload, understanding of change management principles. ? Team working skills. Desirable ? An understanding and experience of public sector governance; ?
