My client a government organisation have an excellent permanent opening for a Senior commercial Officer (Category Manager) – looking to pay £35,000 per annum plus excellent benefits and opportunity for structured increments. This role will be based in Bristol with flexible and agile working.This central government body are responsible growing the rural economy; improving the environment; and safeguarding animal and plant health.The role is to assist customers to deliver value effectively and innovatively in order to meet the customer organisations outcomes and objectives, whilst also fulfilling its Spending Review targets.The post-holder will be required to award and monitor high value and high risk contracts.• This role is a key role within the Commercial team and may be asked to work in a number of different commercial areas• Accountable, at the appropriate level, for provision of day to day advice on commercial issues and governance, taking full account of risk, exploiting commercial opportunities and maximising value of money and savings, contributing to the Commercial groups savings target• Responsible for the delivery of more complex procurements• Prepare initial sourcing strategies, and contribute to business plans• Planning and Managing market engagement exercises• preparing pre tender and tender documents in conjunction with customers• Run tenders in accordance with PCR15 including all requests for information documentation and managing evaluation.• Preparing recommendations for tender outcome• Preparing contract management documentation in conjunction with stakeholders• Preparing initial documentation such as risk register, report requirements, innovation report, and advice to supplier on invoice submission etc.• Supporting contract meetings, and acting as an escalation route for supplier and commercial issueQualifications and Experience• MCIPS, IACCM or equivalent experience is desirable but not essential• Additional academic or professional qualifications, such as degree; Prince2 or APM qualification; would be advantage to the role.• An accomplished Commercial professional with a track record of setting high standards and delivering results in a complex and demanding environment• OJEU tendering• Experience at influencing Commercial decisions at an operational level• A proven manager with experience of leading strategic contract award negotiations and resolving dispute resolutions through negotiationIf you have the necessary skill set, Please do not hesitate to apply online today or send your CV to
