BuyerBristol (North Somerset, West Bristol)£19.50 per hour to £23 per hour DOEContract 3 to 6 months. Possibility of renewalBuyer sought within a specialised division of a global manufacturing brand offering bespoke mechanical/electro engineered solutions to the oil and gas, rail and subsea sectors.The role would suit experienced buyers from a manufacturing or engineering background. Applicants will have proven experience managing suppliers, setting up long term contracts and ensuring best price and best service terms from all suppliers. You must beprepared to work within a busy, fast paced procurement team. CIPS certifications will be advantageous, although relevant transferable industry experience is of the highest priority.Working as part of the procurement team this role focuses entirely on the strategic planning and growth of the business by supporting the supply chain by managing relationships with all suppliers in the UK. You will ensure the business has long term contractswith all key suppliers and a best price, best service approach to all supplier accounts in terms of gaining the optimum outcome in terms of profitability and deliverables across the board.The company are already a global success with many product ranges and this division are set to launch products globally as additional product offerings within the brand. This in turn will catapult the divisions growth, making this a very exciting opportunityfor an engineer seeking to learn and grow with a highly ambitious business.The Role:* Manage all supplier relationships into the business* Ensure a best price and best service in terms of quality and delivery is achieved across all key suppliers.* Work closely with NPI and R&D teams to ensure all clear shared knowledge of the overall business needs for all materials and services into the business.* Play a key role in strategic planning and leadership meetings.The Person:* Must be an experienced buyer/procurement professional* Must be from an engineering or manufacturing background* Will have experience negotiating supplier contracts and terms on a long-term basis* Will ideally hold CIPS or equivalent certifications
