Building SurveyorLocation: UK-BristolSalary: CompetitiveWith one of the largest teams of chartered surveyors in the property sector, located in regional offices across the UK, we have a depth and breadth of experience, expertise and local knowledge to support our clients at every stage of property investment, ownershipand occupation from acquisition to disposal.We work with a wide range of clients to manage their property portfolios, projects and transactions and due to our continuing success; Ridge and Partners are now looking for a talented Building Surveyor to join our multi-disciplinary consultancy office in Bristol.As a Building Surveyor at Ridge you will benefit from on-the-job learning experiences whilst working on prestigious projects including large residential, industrial, commercial and Educational schemes with contract values of over £30 million. You will needto demonstrate the desire, drive and a real enthusiasm to becoming a Chartered Building Surveyor which will be fully supported by the company (the national Ridge APC support process) and the local Building Surveying Team.Responsibilities:* Client management and contract administration/practice duties* Provide advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair and refurbishment of all types of residential, commercial properties and academic* Carry out building/condition surveys* Ensure buildings conform to the latest building regulations and technical standards* Taking particulars on site, writing up specifications, obtaining estimates, planning maintenance programmes and administering contracts for maintenance work* Inspect, analyse and report on building defects* Prepare schedules of dilapidations (land and buildings) * Provide advice in connection with planning applications, appeals and boundary disputes* Supervision of building work on siteQualifications:* Building Surveying degree/diploma* MRICS Chartered - desirableYou will be of an analytical mind with a high level of intellect - combining excellent written and oral skills to produce considered and robust reports and recommendations.
