Ever thought about a career in Planning We have a fantastic opportunity for Construction professional to join a successful Main Contractor. You are guaranteed to be pushed to your full potential and continuously learn starting from day one.What youll be doing on a daily basis:* Assisting with the tender, pre-construction and delivery of a range of opportunities and live projects, working alongside and under the direction of one or more Senior Planners, carrying out a range of assigned tasks which will grow as your experience develops. * It will involve drafting up programmes for review, preparing logistics diagrams, visiting sites and monitoring progress. * You would need to be able to communicate with team members and sub-contractors to either relay or gather information, and to assist with preparing reports and updating information displayed on sites. * Rather than being restricted to working on the same type of projects over and over, youll have the opportunity to get involved in every area of the business and not restricted to a specialist area. Projects may include schools, prisons, well known-retail brands, head offices for some of the worlds largest cooperate companies, and many more. * Dont worry you wont be stuck behind a all day every day. Youll be working on projects at all stages from tender to live projects and opportunities to visit the work youre involved in. * Youll be constantly thinking of the bigger picture and considering all involved with any changes that may need implemented. * Changes can arise at any point and therefore, you should be able to react and act efficiently and effectively * During meetings, youll need to report on project progress to stakeholders at all levels. * Be prepared to be the go to if someone has a planning question on a project youre working on. * Just like a marathon has a finish line, a project has a completion date. Its your job to break it down, create the trail, demonstrate clear milestones and expect some trip-ups. Experience required:* Software skills - Asta Power project experience or MS Project and MS PowerPoint (2D) or Sketchup (3D) for logistics would be advantageous * You hold a construction qualification either degree or college (HNC/ONC) and who has a couple of years site experience on general construction (schools, offices, student accommodation, etc.) There is good starting salary on offer along with a car allowance and a number of other perks.
