Job Description

Page Personnel Logistics have partnered with a well known distribution business in their search for an Traffic Dispatcher for a recycling business overseeing the daily operations at their RDC in Leeds.After experiencing huge growth throughout 2019 & 2020 this customer have been defined as market leading within its sector, expanding rapidly and seeking additional attention from a service perspective across their UK distribution activities.Client Details

  • An opportunity for an experienced Traffic Dispatcher
  • A growing UK Leading Transport and Logistics Business - Based in Brighouse
  • Working Pattern - 2.30pm - 11.30pm Shift Pattern - Monday to Friday
    • DescriptionThe successful Traffic Dispatcher - Leeds - will report directly into the Depot Manager and will be responsible for the following areas:
  • Planning for circa 50 Vehicles per day within a multi drop environment
  • Liaising directly with 3rd party transport suppliers
  • Assist in negotiating rates with both customers and transport providers
  • Focus on providing efficiencys within the transport network, in order to maximise profits
  • Good Knowledge of carrying out visual safety checks of the fleet within strict guidelines
  • Planning business budgets and reporting weekly
  • Successfully plan a large national transport network and knowledge of local area
  • Aim to plan loads in the most profitable way, but driving efficiencys.
  • Supporting the Depot Manager at all times
  • Resolving service related queries and invoicing/charge queries on behalf of the Customer and with the support of customer services.
    • ProfileThe ideal candidate for the Traffic Dispatcher - vacancy will have the following skills and experience:
  • Have a logistics distribution and supply chain background
  • CPC National / International Qualification desirable
  • Have a minimum 2 years transport or Planning experience- Essential
  • Have previously managed a small size fleet desirable
  • Experience of working within Haulage, or fast pace environments, Advantageous
  • Ability to commute within the wider Leeds area.
  • Experience of working to deadlines in a time-critical logistics environment
  • Proficient with IT andTransport Management Systems.
  • Experience of working to strict deadlines in a time critical environment
