Job Description

Elevation Accountancy & Finance are excited to be partnering with a leading business in the Brighouse area, who are seeking a confident and knowledgeable Credit Controller to join their team on a full time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Credit Controller who has experience working within a busy finance function to join a large business and really gain exposure with finance duties and accounting principles. Duties & Responsibilities of the Credit Controller will include:

  • Ensuring customers pay within their agreed payment terms
  • Chasing outstanding customer payment via email, letter, and phone
  • Importing weekly sales invoices
  • Processing card payment, entering details into Sage and reconciling
  • Posting bacs payments to the Sales Ledger
  • Checking customer’s credit and approving or denying it, based on industry standards
  • Auditing customer accounts
  • Allocation of payments
  • Setting up new trade customers
  • Managing insurance-based credit accounts
  • Attending weekly meetings with Directors providing updates
  • Sending copy invoices where required
  • Scanning sales invoices, renaming, and filing
  • Chasing customers for payments on deliveries
  • Starting legal proceedings if clients do not pay their debts on time
  • Undertaking any other reasonable requests for work as assigned
  • Negotiating payment plans and setting up terms and conditions
Required experience:
  • Experience of using credit hound and Sage 200 advantageous but not essential
  • At least 2 years’ experience of working in a credit control role.
  • Analytical skills and thorough attention to detail
  • Be competent using Microsoft Office
  • Ability to build strong working relationships both internally and externally
  • Good communications skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritise.
  • Excellent customer service

  • The ability to listen and negotiate with customers.
  • Excellent verbal communications
