Job Description

A&D Specification Sales Manager - Flooring and InteriorsJob Title: A&D Specification Sales Manager - Flooring and InteriorsIndustry Sector: Architects, Interior Designers, Office Fit-Out, Office Space, Workspace, Interior Fit-Out Companies, Specifiers, End Users, Fit-Out Contractors and Flooring ContractorsAreas to be covered: NorthRemuneration: £45,000 Neg. + £6,000 guaranteed Bonus + Uncapped CommissionBenefits: Fully Expensed Hybrid Car & Full BenefitsThe role of the A&D Specification Sales Manager Flooring and Interiors will involve:

  • Architectural specification field sales position, selling our clients manufactured range of flooring solutions, including: carpet tiles, safety tiles, luxury vinyl tile (LVT), entrance matting, floor coverings etc.
  • Targeting workspace/ office space companies.
  • 80% of your time spent with architects and interior designers A&D, but predominantly interior designers within interior fit-out companies, as well as furniture and office lettings companies
  • Remainder of time with 1 or 2 flooring contractors
  • You will be responsible for circa £1.2m of turnover
  • 60% account managing existing relationships on the patch, 40% new business development
  • 4 days a week on the road, 1 day home working/ appointment setting
  • Typically working on projects from £5,000-£60,000
  • Working in a team of 6 field sales, contributing towards a team target of approx. £8.5m
The ideal applicant will be an A&D Specification Sales Manager Flooring and Interiors with:
  • A proven track record of specification field sales with architects and interior designers A&D
  • Flooring field sales experience is not essential as all interior building products will be considered
  • Contacts within office fit-out/ workspace companies is not essential but may be advantageous
  • Flexible approach to work
  • Team player
  • Hardworking and honest
  • Strong presentation skills (CPDs etc.)
  • Ideally with interior design contacts within the major conurbations; Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield etc.
  • Resilient personality
  • Ability to cope will vast product portfolio
  • Ability to handle projects from inception right through to completion
  • Fabric, wall coverings, flooring, partitioning, ceilings and other aesthetically pleasing interior products of interest
  • Understanding of design, flair and creativity
  • IT literate
  • Specification sales driven not contractor/ distributor led
