Job Description

We are now recruiting for a Quality Manager, to work for an automotive company based near Dudley. This is a 6-month fixed term contract with immediate start.The main objective of the position is to lead the Quality Assurance function managing Quality / Business systems in compliance with IATF Quality System and supporting Automotive system requirements.The main duties will be:

  • Validate quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes.
  • Build customer relationships and satisfaction through frequent proactive visits and correspondence.
  • Proactively work with customer and plant employees to anticipate and address problems and issues before they occur.
  • Achieve quality assurance operational objectives.
  • Support New Product Launch and STP (Standard Transition Process) through Quality Engineering preparation of new part samples, PPAP documentation including Control Plans, Process Quality Requirements, product layouts and calibration requirements.
  • Maintain and improve product quality by leveraging Continual Improvement Framework and Problem Solving Methodology.
  • Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analysing and summarising information and trends.
    • The Ideal Quality Manager will have the following:
  • 3 years Technical Degree or equivalent experience in automotive/vehicle engineering or quality assurance environment
  • Automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or Tier 1/Tier 2 experience in Manufacturing, Quality or Engineering
  • IATF 16949 system management and auditing
  • Plastic Moulding experience is essential
  • 6 Sigma methodology (minimum Green Belt) preferred
  • Project management skills
  • PMFEA, Control Plan, Flow Charts, 8D and A3 and supplier management.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good customer relationships
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-organized
  • Ability to coordinate and integrate activities across the organization
