Your Company:A business services company is seeking a Senior Buyer to join them in the Bridport area. The business provides excellent quality products and services to its clients, and is growing their customer base consistently, requiring them to ensure they have a comprehensivestrategy for procurement, to enable them to deliver on their promises to their clients.This role presents an exceptional opportunity for an eager and ambitious procurement professional to join the business and play a key role in transforming the function to better support teams across the business as well as its customer facing services. Therewill be the expectation for the position holder to bring their own expertise to this role, to implement new systems aimed at streamlining the procurement process, as well as updating policies, engaging with new suppliers and driving advantageous rates forthe business.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesWhile in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:* Collaborating with management teams across the business at a strategic level to shape and develop the entire procurement process within the organisation* Developing a supplier base that will meet business needs with rates that are advantageous to the business* Implementing systems and processes to enhance the effectiveness of the function, to fully meet business requirements* Handling supplier negotiations, recording all activity and ensuring this is reported back to senior management* Providing knowledge and support to colleagues as a subject matter expert for procurement where it is needed* Reviewing the existing policies and processes to ensure they align with the direction in which you will take the procurement function, and amend these as necessary* Overseeing the awarding of contracts to new suppliers who are successfulWhat you will need to Apply:This business is keen to converse with proactive procurement specialists, with a strong background in procurement - at least 5 years. It is vital that applicants possess excellent communication abilities and a powerful approach to negotiating with suppliersto achieve effective rates and terms that are beneficial to the business.
