Job Description

Competitive salary and benefitsLocation: Retail Support Centre in BrentwoodWork pattern: 5 days per week (35 hours) - flexible working availableMcColl’s Retail Group (MRG) are a leading neighbourhood retailer serving the Convenience and Newsagent sectors with a strong national presence throughout the UK.We are currently looking to recruit an ambitious and highly talented individual to take on the role of Merchandiser within our busy Format, Range & Space Department. Reporting to the Category Development Controller, the key purpose of this role is to plan and develop a strategy to enable the sales of a range of products that delivers sales and profit targets.Key Responsibilities

  • Obtain the correct balance between the expectations of the customer and the objectives of the companys financial strategy
  • Extract and analyses systemic data to predict future product requirements
  • Devise easy to implement planograms
  • Benchmark merchandising principles against competitors
  • Outline and agree merchandising principles with key stakeholders
  • Engage with buying and external suppliers on best merchandising practices and methods
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver the correct quantities at the right time and place
  • Monitor and improve existing processes to enhance efficiency across the business
  • Planning and executing deliveries to a timebound plan
    • Essential Requirements
  • Experience in working with planograms and ranges
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Stakeholder management
  • Ability to multitask
    • Desired Skills
  • Systemic (JDA) planogram knowledge
  • Analytical skills
  • Define and implement merchandising principles
  • Excellent presentation skills
