Job Description

Role -SEN HLTAStart Date-ASAPDay: 37 hours per week 5 daysMonday to Thursday 8.00am to 4.00pm, Friday 8.00am to 3.30pmWe are looking for an enthusiastic SEN HLTA to support the SENDCo in the identification of SEND students. The successful candidate will act as a key worker for specific students with SEND and will help plan, prepare and deliver activities for individuals, andmonitor and report on students achievement, progress and development.Job Purpose

  • To complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision.
  • This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals and monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupils achievement, progress and development.
Responsibilities:
  • Support the SENDCo in identifying and implementing strategies for SEND students.
  • Work with individuals and groups under the direction of the SENDCo to support learning.
  • Maintain Student SEND Records and develop a solid understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Timetable teaching assistants to ensure adequate support for SEND students.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with pupils, including acting as a key worker for specific SEND students.
  • Attend team meetings and relevant sessions, ensuring confidentiality is maintained.
  • Work one-to-one with SEND students as needed, supporting assessment and progress tracking.
  • Liaise with staff and professionals, contributing to the development and implementation of One plans and EHCP meetings.
  • Support transition and involve parents/carers in students learning.
  • Administer medication and assist with mobility, eating, dressing, and hygiene when required.
  • Organize and manage learning environments and resources.
  • Plan challenging teaching objectives, monitor and evaluate pupil responses, and provide objective feedback and reports on achievement and progress.
