Nom du site: UK - London - BrentfordData de publication: Jul 13 2020Are you interested in a medical affairs role that leverages your project management expertise to accelerate global medical affairs engagement If so, this Medical Affairs Manager role could be an ideal opportunity to explore.As a Medical Affairs Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring adequate therapy area input, maximized leveraging of existing Medical platforms, and aligned implementation of Medical Affairs processes and initiatives across the Medical organization.Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and develop the medical vaccines team to help deliver the GSK mission and to ensure achievement of company objectives. This will include, but be not limited to:
  • Setting business objectives and priorities and conducting appraisals to drive performance in line with GSK values and expectations
  • Creation of environment conducive to successful implementation of medical plans and team development
  • Driving and shaping the environment to facilitate market access and to ensure engagement of relevant Healthcare Professionals, including strategic input into health technology assessments, tender dossiers and other relevant submissions
  • Role Model for GSK values and expectations
  • Provide authoritative opinion on medical and ethical matters to support the team and other colleagues across GSK, enabling the evidence-based use of GlaxoSmithKline medicines and compliance with the relevant statutory requirements (e.g. ABPI Code of Practice, Medicines Act, and EU Directives).
  • Ownership and delivery of the medical aspects of the vaccines business plans, including key evidence generation plans, working closely with colleagues across GlaxoSmithKline UK (e.g. Marketing, Sales, Health Outcomes) and the relevant Centre of Excellence.
  • Identification, development and implementation of clinical development plans (Phase IIIb-IV), including activities such as Investigator-Sponsored studies and Post Authorisation Safety Studies (PASS) to address data gaps and other key barriers to appropriate medicine use.
  • Acting as a Local Medical Lead for GSK-sponsored clinical development studies in the UK (Phase I to IIIa)
  • Building relationships with key experts and external organisations to ensure that GlaxoSmithKline retains a leading voice in the UK Healthcare industry.
  • Co-ordinating and utilising specialist knowledge with brand aligned colleagues in formulating and implementing short- and long-term medical strategy for optimal benefit to the patient, prescriber and GSK.
  • Influencing clinical research strategies in support of UK market needs.
  • Support Market Access and Value Access teams with regard to Evidence Generation Activities and preparation and submission of tender documents.
  • Provide medical information and GSK sponsored study support out-of-hours as required.
  • Engage and support regional medical affairs teams and share best practice with other countries as and when appropriate
  • Support of Clinical Research activities, for example:
  • Knowledge of UK clinical practice, care pathways, key competitors, etc. and input where required into study allocation process and implementation of studies in the UK.
  • Input into a development of local protocols, patient information leaflets (including sign-off of risk/benefit statement) and named patient programmes.
  • Proactive input into European Medical meetings to ensure UK strategy is supported.
  • People management: up to 5 direct line reports (office and/or field based) Why youBasic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • A GMC registered medical doctor with the right to work in the UK with significant relevant therapy area knowledge.
  • Extensive prior clinical experience; PMST (ongoing or eligible); Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine (DipPharmMed) preferred.
  • A good understanding of the changing UK health care environment, including knowledge of health technology assessments and market access challenges in the UK
  • Broad Pharmaceutical industry experience or equivalent, including medical affairs and/or clinical development; People management experience preferred
  • Proactive, self-motivated, self-reliant.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team of medical and scientific professionals
  • Basic financial understanding
  • Effective communication skills
  • Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • Preferably Dip Pharm Med or equivalent qualification and membership of FPP or working towards it.
  • ABPI Final Medical Signatory; broad experience preferred
