Job Description

Site Name: UK - London - BrentfordPosted Date: Jul 21 2020Global Supply Chain Planning LeadGSK House 12-18 month contract/secondment GSK is transforming its Supply Chain to align with best in class performance. To achieve this, the organisation will be required to deliver an integrated end to end Supply Chain, aligned to the business objectives.Planning 2.0 defines a new organisational structure to streamline the current fragmented Supply Chain. This brings a new Central Planning organisation that is tailored to the business priorities set by Commercial. Changes to the job scope are required to deliver this.This person is accountable global planning brand lead for core brand(s), owning inventory targets and accountable for service, single point of contact for to plan the end to end supply chain, including the ownership of the network supply plan, for core brands and all relevant SKUs within the therapy portfolio for a minimum of a 3 year horizon to ensure product availability and optimal service to regions, aligning all 3/1 Budgets E2.You will lead brand-specific CCC including pre SCRM and pre S&OP with Rx SC and global brand owner, provides recommendations to the Global Supply Chain Planning Director (Therapy) on optimal end to end supply chain solutions that ensure service level, whilst optimizing working capital costs, and execute the plan signed in the CCC process.Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and recommend to the Global Supply Chain Planning Director (Therapy) the optimal supply chain plans in the minimum 3 yrs horizon related to the relevant SKU subset, including optimal allocation of capacity across sites and inventory balance to deliver required service level in the regions.
  • Manage product changes within the SKU subset, this includes product changes, NPI and support sites with portfolio optimisation.
  • Accountable for inventory policy setting and performance management along the supply chain for the brand (all SKUs) – working with regional markets / hubs and sites to implement and monitor policy execution.
  • Allocation across all sites and testing labs to maximize total cost/cash in alignment with network/brand strategy (up to 4+ mfg sites and 3+ testing labs) - accomplished by leading brand specific pre-SCRM with sites, testing labs
  • Key participant of quarterly network strategy review, leads the PRF with the MSCL and inputs to dose form review, assuring LRF is landed into 3 yr preparing for future indications or dose form launches
  • Development of inventory optimisation opportunities for the Therapy sub-set
  • Develop Ways of Working with relevant CMOs, ensuring supply contract obligations and customer requirements are met.
  • Review SC KPIs to identify improvement opportunities and risks to SC performance, including planning parameter accuracy, reviewing demonstrated performance against SC design
  • Brand supply chain scenario modelling sub-set to support decision making (eg for tenders, capacity changes, PRF, DFR)
  • Oversee change processes for the Brand network:
  • New Product Introduction (NPI) ; New Product Sourcing ; Product Transfer ; Pack Change ; Allocation & Rationing ; Divestment ; Discontinuation ; Tender Requests
  • Leads brand pre-S&OP with Franchise Global Medicines Commercial Leader and engages with the relevant Commercial & Regional teams to understand risks and opportunities, ensuring NPI and discontinuations have been appropriately forecast
  • Accountable for managing inventory at risk and service level risks that require trade-off decision and cannot be resolved by the global SC planning teams (i.e. SCIM 2)
  • Responsible for running network planning for a minimum 3 year period, with associated exception resolution escalated from the SC Planners
  • Ambassador for change management and continuous improvement across the Supply Chain assuring ability to supply
  • Support Supply Chain Planning Director in the preparation of SCRM and all Global Therapy S&OPs
  • Reinforce maintenance of accurate supply planning parameters in the ERP system, through all supply nodes, in line with the inventory and service policies, accountable for updating the FRS. Regularly review demonstrated performance against SC design

  • Degree level or equivalent in an appropriate business or technical area.
  • Practical Supply Planning experience required, preferably in Pharmaceuticals or FMCG environment
  • Knowledge of SC processes and systems in a business environment
  • Advanced level Excel skills required
