It is part of a new, innovative class of erythropoietin stimulating agents, described as HIF-PHIs (hypoxia-inducible factor prolyl hydroxylase inhibitors), designed to potentially help revolutionise standards of care for both dialysis and non-dialysis patients.GSK is running a comprehensive Global Clinical Development programme and separate Japan programme, with first launch planned in Japan. A well-executed medical affairs strategy will be critical in achieving meaningful insight gathering, the right evidence generation and focussed scientific communication to help improve outcomes for patients suffering with anaemia of Chronic Kidney Disease. The Global Medical Affairs Director will play a key role in driving and implementing strategy,GSK is a science-led global healthcare company. To support our global medical affairs activities, we are looking to appoint a Global Medical Affairs Director to work within this pipeline area, reporting to the Global Medical Affairs Lead for Renal.Job Purpose·Drives opportunities to gather external and internal insights to shape our understanding of customer needs·Translates current and emerging evidence into content of value for internal and external audiences·Collaborates with R&D, country teams and other key cross-functional stakeholders to help shape and execute the medical affairs and launch plan·Develops a strong external network of global experts in Anaemia of Chronic Kidney Disease·Drives development and execution of several global medical affairs strategies.Key ResponsibilitiesoPartners with above-country and country colleagues to drive, integrate and prioritise key insights to inform global medical affairs plans and life cycle strategyoEngages with R&D, VEO, other disciplines, and country teams to support identification of evidence generation needs and plans to address them.oEnsures country medical affairs colleagues have a robust knowledge of the relevant and emerging clinical evidence, supporting their training by creating high quality scientific engagement materials for both internal and external use.oDevelops external scientific communication content on emerging disease and HIF -PHI specific topics, using innovative and diverse channels of communication.oPartners with Japan and other core countries to help implement scientific communication strategy and launches, including reviewing and optimising local medical affairs plans and sharing learning/ best practice/ intelligence.oDrives excellence in external engagement with key stakeholders (e.g. HCP’s, Patients, Payors and Regulators) globally and in partnership with core countries.oEnsures appropriate medical governance oversight of all deliverablesoPartners with Marketing, Market Access and core country teams to generate content of high scientific quality for future promotional useoDevelops subject matter expertise on the product and therapy areaWhy youBasic Qualifications:We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
