Job Description

FP&A ControllerA global market leader industry is looking for a FP&A Controller to join their team in Brentford, WestLondon on a permanent basis with a regional focus on EMEA.German language skills would be considered a bonus for this position.JOB DESCRIPTION Month End Reporting

  • Implement an efficient and highly informative month end reporting and analysis process in line with Group and Cluster requirements.
  • Prepare certain accruals and review revenue and costs to ensure that they are correctly presented prior to closure of month end by Chief Accountant and FSSC.
  • Monthly analysis of the business financial and business results including variance analysis producing highly informative reporting packs for senior management.
  • Develop and then on a monthly basis, produce presentations for the monthly leadership meetings.
  • Organise and execute monthly business review meetings for the 3 countries in the Cluster.
  • Planning/Forecasting
  • Implement an efficient and highly informative annual budgeting/rolling forecast process in line with the Group requirements.
  • Own the annual budgeting/quarterly forecasting process for the three businesses working closely with the head office team.
  • Commercial Analysis
  • Provide financial and commercial analysis to support the sales and service team, with significant focus on margins and trend analysis.
  • Critically review proposed orders for equipment, consumables, spares and service contracts and make recommendations to Cluster Head of Northern Europe.
  • Review current contracts for cost savings and help in the process to renegotiate these.
  • Steer Cluster in regard of cost development and target setting in order to drive cost savings throughout the business
  • Steer net working capital (including Equipment Payment Terms) in the Cluster to ensure budget targets are met.
  • Post installation profitability reviews of sales orders.
  • Support/Relationships
  • Heads of Controlling in the Organisation based in Germany
  • Members of the Excom steering the Organisation
  • Work closely with the Territory Heads and Head of Finance and Administration in all the countries.
  • Although based in the UK, develop efficient working relationships with the Denmark, Sweden and South Africa Teams.
  • Manage one member of staff based in the UK with significant focus on developing the skills-set of this person into a high performing analyst.
  • Full responsibility for the cost centre structure within the UK and Ireland business working closely with HR to agree.
  • CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
  • A hands-on graduate, qualified accountant with good academics and a broad commercial finance skill set covering month end reporting, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial business partnering is essential to the role.
  • At least 3-5 years relevant experience of the above which will have been obtained ideally but not essential in an international sales focused business.
  • Preferential to have had a high level of SAP experience and be competent with this ERP system.
  • Experience of developing high quality financial processes from conception to launch as well as transforming finance functions.
  • A confident proactive self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and build strong relationships across all levels.
  • Credibility and gravitas to challenge current thinking and influence in a positive and constructive manner both inside and outside finance and drive transformation within the Finance arena.
  • The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, capable of providing both real challenge and wise counsel to the Board and should be capable of further progression within the Group.
  • Must demonstrate first-class technical and analytical skills combined with real commercial pragmatism in a cash constrained business within an International Group and used to delivering to tight deadlines.
  • German speaking would be an advantage but not essential
