We work in partnership major employers across the Service and Engineering sectors to help develop their people.Who we are looking forWe are looking for an experienced Workshop Supervisor ensuring that the service is delivered in a safe, cost effective and technically compliant manner according to the required standards.What will you be doingAs a Workshop Supervisor you will play a key role in building effective relationships with colleagues, ensuring team morale and productivity is maintained at all times.Your duties will include* Managing training and development needs to enable team members to meet the skill levels required to achieve individual and business objectives. * Providing 1-2-1 support and reviews for colleagues via the PDR process* Authorising repairs and parts as required, and ensure costing and monitoring of job cards/invoices, including correct labour allocation and procedures are followed.* Supervising the induction of new staff, ensuring all new and existing staff read and acknowledge all QTIB bulletins and related procedures, and supporting documentation is communicated where required.* Carrying out workshop floor walking duties, monitoring job progress, authorising additional parts and labour. Reflect changing needs of the operation in real time, able to demonstrate flexibility and re-prioritise activities accordinglyThe experience youll bring * NVQ level 3, or equivalent B/TEC or City & Guilds in Motor Vehicle Engineering essential* IOSH managing health & safety level 2 - Ideal but not essential * Membership of the IMI or IRTE or be working towards membership. - Ideal but not essential. * Proven experience in a Motor Vehicle technician role, with minimum of 5 years experience gained as a fully qualified technician.* Previous experience of supervising/leading a busy motor vehicle workshop* Experience in providing support to internal and external customers.* Experience of meeting demanding targets and deadlinesWhat a role with Babcock offers * Generous holiday entitlement* Competitive money purchase pension scheme with life assurance* Share ownership scheme* Access to make a difference for a sustainable environment for future* A tailored personal development and training programme.* Autonomy.
