Job Description

Tradewind SEND are recruiting Learning Support Assistants; we are looking for empathetic, passionate, and resilient people to work with a specialist service for children excluded from mainstream learning. This service needs Learning Support Assistant acrossall age groups working with a number of students who have complex mental health disorders and challenging behaviour profiles. This PRU is located in Brent and near to the Jubilee Line.The young people you would work closely with will have a variety of needs. significant complex and co-morbid SEMH and ASC but additionally, all pupils have Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN).Therapeutic Support Worker requirements:

  • Experience of working with children or young people with complex SEMH as a primary diagnosis
  • Experience of supporting emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies/co-regulation
  • Ability to resolve conflicts by restorative practice
    • Positive role model to support communication with a sensitive, nurturing, and consistent approach
    • Experience of working with young people with Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties and learning difficulties
  • Or experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication
  • Mentoring/teaching background
  • Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships
  • Experience of working with disengaged students is essential
What you can expect as Learning Support Assistant:
  • £80 - £90 a day
    • Excellent experience and training for aspiring Child Psychologists, Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Counsellors, SEND Teachers, and Social Workers
