Job Description

Our client, a removals company is looking for a Trainee Driver to join their office in Brandon.Who are they looking for

  • Experienced van driver looking to progress into HGV driving (Removals)
  • Clean driving licence with ideally no points on licence
  • A conscientious, physically fit and hard working team player
  • Comfortable taking direction from others but also using own initiative
  • Eye for detail, a problem solver and can remain calm when dealing with customers
  • Able to read and write English is essential
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experienced in the removals sector would be an advantage
The Role:
  • Driving to and from location (long and short distances)
  • Initially undertaking the role of a Porter
  • Shadow current Senior Drivers to learn role, routes and build confidence
  • Moving and handling - physical lifting/ handling
  • Loading and unloading customers household/ personal possessions
  • Undertaking the HGV Training programme
  • Completing relevant on the job paperwork
  • Banksman duties
  • Follow H&S guidelines
  • Full time
  • Permanent
  • Based out of Brandon depot
  • Salary - £25,689.30 pa starting, increasing upon training completion
Days & Hours:
  • Normal days of work: Monday to Friday. (Occasional Saturdays are required at increased rate)
  • Hours: from 5am starts, finish times vary depending on job and can finish late on occasion.
  • Nights Away (£25 paid) on average its two nights per week, sleeping within the vehicle bunks. (This can be one, one a week and four another week.)
