Job Description

Plumbing & Heating SupervisorBased near ThetfordSalary dependent upon experienceFull time, permanentRef J29510Our client is looking to recruit a Plumbing & Heating Supervisor to work on a full time basis at their manufacturing site based near Thetford.The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • To ensure the plumbing and heating systems have been installed to both the design and manufacturers specifications and are in line with current legislation.
  • To audit the quality of workmanship of the installed plumbing and heating systems and ensure the installed equipment is fit for purpose.
  • Liaise with the design team regarding systems and alternative components.
  • To produce Standard Operating Procedures for the plumbing and heating installations.
  • Mentor and coach apprentice plumbers to successfully complete their NVQ training.
  • Identify suitable candidates for plumbing and heating training to produce in-house Gas-Safe Engineers.
  • Work with the Technical Department on design option/restrictions to ensure compliance with BS3632.
  • Supervise the plumbing and heating team and manage any issues relating to capability, absence and discipline.
    • The required skills are:
  • Experience of domestic plumbing and gas systems.
  • Gas-safe certification (lapsed will be considered as re-training is possible)
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing and Heating
  • Excellent IT Skills
  • Previous supervisory experience
